Civil Service Club Review

Fancy celebrating your little one’s special occasion at the Civil Service Club at Netheravon Road? Read on for the review of our stay here. Includes both chalet and villa over 2 separate stays.

Location

We booked rooms at CSC for the generous land space for chalets and the villa. Perfect for families wanting to spend some time together. As a bonus, the coastal location makes this place extra unique. With the ferry terminal to Pulau Ubin just beside the compound, you could imagine yourself living the idllic island life already.

Be sure to soak in the sea view whether you’re in the infinity pool jacuzzi, or at the level 3 bars. This is something you don’t get, not even at East Coast Park. Perhaps Sentosa can give it a run for the money.

Nearby CSC, within 10 minutes of walking is Changi Village food centre for all your cravings without waiting out the food delivery delay.

To add on to scenery lovers, you can relax your gaze into the sea as boats and ships pass by. Look higher, and you’ll spot an aeroplane on its way down towards the airport. Amazing view staying at CSC.

Comfort

We stayed at the chalet and villa, so I will review the rooms separately.

Chalet

The chalet has 2 bedrooms, with plenty of space for 3 generations to have a staycation comfortably. You’ll want to stay at Family Suite Plus so you don’t get blocked by the view of the villa’s roof. It feels like a jumbo HDB that’s made by merging smaller units together. The dining area right beside the entrance has ample room for a family to eat takeaway from Changi Village.

I appreciate the ready-made water dispenser that does not limit you to 2 bottles a day, ensuring the family gets plenty of water against the Singaporean weather. The coffee capsule machine is a great touch for people who have outgrown instant coffee.

The swing chair in the main bedroom is a wonderful way to curl up with a book/Kindle in hand and read in the comfort of air-conditioning.

Villa

While the chalet room is great for grandparents, parents and toddler/young children, the villa ups the ante by providing much more space for extended family gatherings or birthday parties.

We celebrated the little ones special occasion, inviting around 20 guests to our gathering at the villa. The indoor area was able to house most guests, along with a bouncy castle at the corner. Be sure to set up along the glass instead of the walls.

Catering was able to set up under the shelter of Villa B, so guests won’t risk having to eat wet food caused by rainy weather. The best part about the villa we booked was the outdoor swing outside and the whole wooden platform to house guests wanting a glimpse of the sea view. There was a BBQ grill that we didn’t need to use because of the food we ordered, but just imagine having an exclusive seaside barbecue in your own seaside space.

Service

As this is not a hotel, we didn’t expect much service. There were board games you could rent, and we didn’t take up the offer as it was either pool time or indoor TV time. Entering and exiting the area was made secure by CSC stationing a guard at the entrance to the rooms during the night time.

What I did experience was a rather worrying observation of the underwater poolside lights popping out of its wall housing. After writing in to management, I was assured that they fixed the problem and I felt safe to bring the kids there again to play in the kiddie pool.

Conclusion

Choose to spend a couple of nights at Civil Service Club Netheravon Road to enjoy some quality time and seaside living with your loved ones. The furnishings feel new and well-upkept as of 2025, and you will get to enjoy the seaside living without the touristy buzz of Sentosa.
